4WD Day

Some bush and some beach, the trip is suitable for your average SUV that can handle a little bit of soft sand driving (instruction on driving technique will be given along the way if you are not confident). We will be heading up inland in the morning along the Cooloola Way and stop at the Bymein picnic area near Rainbow Beach, where we will walk in to lake Poona (2.1km each way) on a mostly sandy track through beautiful bush, and then have lunch back at the picnic area.

After lunch we will head up through Rainbow beach to Double Island Point for the afternoon then return home down the Noosa North Shore beach.

We meet at the Greenhouse (Cnr of Main and Textile St.s Kawana) at 7.45 and return around 5/6 ish.

Low Tide:  3:56pm

There will be time to swim (in the lake and/or beach), surf, fish, or just relax on the beach together.

Bring:    All food, water and drinks you will need for the day, camp chair, camera any sporting equipment you want (and drivers – uhf radio if you have one, I have several I can loan for the day if you do not have one). We won’t go through Rainbow Beach until after lunch.

If you have room for passengers, why not invite some friends to join you for the day, or let me know if you have spare seats and are happy to take others, as there are usually some people who would like to come if there are seats available.
