Made New

For the past few months I’ve found myself enjoying YouTube videos of people restoring things. Whether it be a meat cleaver or an old painting, there seems to be no shortage of crafty people bringing these objects back from the rust and grime they fell into.

When I looked further, I realised that there is a whole internet community dedicated to these videos; there seems to be something about restoring an object to its intended glory that people find appealing. It is not only the aesthetic that is restored in these cases, but also the function of each object.

I wonder what it means for us, individually and as a Church, to look and function as resurrected people?

May we each pray that God would encourage and enable us as we seek to embody His work to make all things new.
